Latest Tweets and News on New Album.

Hi all!!

Flo’s been tweeting a lot recently and, if you have followed her, you’d probably notice that she is already filming a new video for the latest single of the album, finally confirmed, Cosmic Love.

Shame Hurricane Drunk probably won’t see the light as a single, but it’s great to know Lungs is finishing its commercial adventure with such a bang.

On the other hand, Flo has been talking about her new album on the last number of NME mag. Recently, she spent a couple of weeks at the studio working with Paul Epworth (producer of Lungs) and, as a result, she already has two complete songs and a new sound.

“The new stuff I’d call kind of dancey, but it’s dark as well”, she explained NME.

She talked about a new song called ‘Strangeness and Charm’ : “A lot of my family are doctors or are trying to become doctors, so much of our dinner conversations are fixated on on medical stuff. My father was talking about this thing – strangeness and charm. It’s actually the name of the two smallest particles when you split the atom, so I wrote a song around it. I even managed to fit the word ‘hydrogen’ in there. Isn’t that a nice thing for scientists to call them, though? It’s so unscientific and human. The songs is quite, erm, chemically fixated though!”

She also talked about the come back of the guitar as a principal instrument: “It’s not a Kiss With a Fist-type of guitar sound though…it’s much stranger than that.”

Florence Goes 3D for Grazia Magazine

posted by Celyn on March 22, 2010 under Magazines with 0 comments

Florence recently took time out of her hectic live schedule to take part in a photoshoot with a difference for Grazia magazine, using state-of-the-art Augmented Reality technology.

Florence says: “This is just completely unbelievable, I am this technophobe who still uses a Walkman and never emails, yet people will be able to see me walking, talking, singing, straight off the cover of a magazine? It’s beyond comprehension! I’m in the middle of a mad, mad world tour, but this was something I had to find the time to do. I love it.”

Grazia have called the shoot their “most ambitious photoshoot ever”. For a complete guide to getting the most out of the Florence feature in “Walk-In Talking 3D” Grazia – on sale from 23 March – click here.
